If you have no other choice but to surrender your pet, the Animal Rescue League will take your animal in and make all efforts to rehome him or her. 

We request a minimum donation of $25 to offset the hundreds of dollars that it costs to take in an animal. 
However, because we are an open door shelter, NO ANIMAL IS EVER TURNED AWAY FOR ANY REASON.

If you choose to surrender a pet, please plan to spend 15-20 minutes speaking with an Intake Counselor, so that we can collect as much background information as we can regarding your animal.  The more information you can give to us, the more likely we are to find the best solution for your pet.

We recommend that you call to schedule an intake appointment. Particularly during busy times, waits can be 30 minutes or more without a scheduled appointment. Make your appointment by calling 412-661-6452 x230.
