As a member of the Three Rivers Feral Project, the Animal Rescue League is acutely aware of the problem of feral cats in our area. Many well meaning people start out feeding a few stray cats only to find themselves overwhelmed by cats and kittens who may have no interest in human interaction, but who have come to count on this generous impulse for survival. 
To help these feral cat caregivers the Animal Rescue League has set aside two Tuesdays each month when the medical clinic is devoted to TNR or Trap – Neuter – Release and our already low fee to spay/neuter a feral cat is further reduced to $20.00. 
Trap-Neuter-Return is a humane approach for feral cats. Though this program, outdoor cats are humanely trapped, brought to the clinic, spayed or neutered, receive a rabies vaccine and ear-tipped (for identification purposes) and returned to their outdoor home.
How Our Program Works:
1.    Identify that there is a feral cat in your neighborhood (more...
2.    Schedule an appointment with Clinic the 412-345-0343 or brush@animalrescue.org
3.    If needed, arrange to borrow traps with cklingensmith@animalrescue.org or brush@animalrescue.orgby leaving a $50.00 cash deposit that will be refunded when the traps are returned to the shelter.
4.    Trap the cat(s) the evening before the scheduled surgery (more...)
5.    Safely transport the cat(s) to the Animal Rescue League between 8:30am and 10:00am the day of your scheduled appointment. 
6.    Pick the cat up at the designated time and follow post surgery instructions before returning the cat to its natural environment.
  
If you are caring for 10 or more feral cats please contact Cleda Klingensmith at cklingensmith@animalrescue.org. It may be possible for us to assist your with the trapping and some associated fees.
