Event volunteers help us give our animals prominent exposure at various events throughout the year. We participate in or host an average of 6-10 of community events per month. These fundraisers and public functions happen all throughout the Pittsburgh & Western PA region. Volunteers are directly responsible for hundreds of offsite adoptions at these events – that’s hundreds of lives saved!

We are looking for people that can commit to taking animals or helping at our many offsite events in various locations. Volunteers need to be able to read, write, and work independently. You must be at least 18 years of age and attend an event training session. In addition, volunteers must also be physically capable of handling animals.

Training sessions will be held on the following Saturdays:

  • Sessions are on hold until 2015. Please check back for dates as they become available.
11am – 12pm: Event training
12am – 2pm: Taking cats or dogs to events

To learn more, or to register for a training session, contact Mary Kennedy Withrow, Community Outreach Coordinator at mwithrow@animalrescue.org or 412-345-7300 x510.
