Save the Date - Allegheny County Greenfestival Ausust 14th
Join us for the Allegheny Green & Innovation Festival at Hartwood Amphitheater on August 14. The zero-waste event will include earth-friendly food and product vendors, crafters, green living demonstrations, a book swap, musical entertainment, and children's activities. Reuse-a-palooza, the Pittsburgh Children's Museum, Carnegie Science Center, and RiverCubes are just a few of the groups that will provide hands-on activities. Carnegie Mellon University will bring Tartan Racing's Boss, the robotic SUV that won the 2007 DARPA Urban Grand Challenge, and its "BowGo" pogo stick developed with CMU's robotic leg technology. The National Center for Robotics Engineering Technology Education at California University of Pennsylvania will also be on hand with demonstrations. This photo shows the first two visitors to our newly remodeled flight cage. These two Red-tailed Hawks (Buteo jamaicensis) spent a few weeks in the flight cage before being returned to the wild.
